Senator Ben Ray Luján’s campaign for a second term in the United State Senate has been less high-profile than some other statewide races, but his first campaign ad out this week is likely to get attention.
In the video titled, “Bull,” Luján is seen working with supporters on his farm in Nambe as they clear out acequias and muck out animal stalls. Luján says that type of work taught him “how to deal with bullshit.”
Luján, a former public regulation commissioner and congressman from northern New Mexico was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2020. This cycle, Republicans failed to qualify a candidate in the primary but have since qualified Larry Marker as a write-in candidate.
